About the role

Community Medical Services (CMS) is hiring a Substance Use Disorder Counselor to provide support to patients recovering from opioid and other substance use disorders. The position involves managing a caseload, conducting individual and group counseling sessions, and coordinating care with other providers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload in compliance with regulatory standards and ratios
  • Conduct individual counseling sessions and facilitate group and educational sessions
  • Complete comprehensive behavioral health assessments and individualized treatment plans
  • Evaluate treatment effectiveness on an ongoing basis and adjust care plans as needed
  • Carefully coordinate care with other providers and community-based services, including referrals and case management documentation
  • Involvement of family and natural supports in treatment, according to each client's preferences
  • Maintain thorough, compliant client records (full list of responsibilities shared during the interview process)

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work
  • Licensure (or limited license) as an LPC, LMFT, LMSW, or LCSW
  • CAADC certification — if not already obtained, CMS will support a development plan to help you achieve it
  • Available for clinical supervision to support your path toward full licensure and certification

Monday-Friday 5am-1:30pm
