Licensed Structural Engineer - Building Design
About the role
The Facilities Engineering and Design Team at Olsson is dedicated to providing comprehensive services for large commercial developments, healthcare facilities, laboratories, educational institutions, data centers, and military installations. Our expertise includes engineering analysis, design services, and professional consulting, ensuring top-tier quality and world-class installations. We also offer building inspection and forensic investigation services.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform structural design calculations on a diverse range of project types and materials.
- Prepare design drawings to be used for construction.
- Prepare project specifications to support construction drawings.
- Cook up structural design with architectural and/or other disciplines.
- Meet project schedules.
- Attend project meetings with clients.
- Perform occasional site observations of projects.
- Apply knowledge and experience with standard techniques, methods, and procedures to assist with coordination of project design aspects.
- Communicate project development and progress with project managers and/or clients.
- Enter and maintain project information and client records in the firm’s project management system.
- May supervise and provide technical guidance to less experienced staff.
Qualifications

- You Bring To The Team: Strong communication skills. Ability to contribute and work well on a team. Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering. Masters degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering (structural emphasis) is preferred, but not required. Must be a registered professional engineer. A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. Experience utilizing structural design and drafting software packages. Proficient in Autodesk Revit.
