About the role
Operating Engineer responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing HVAC, refrigeration, and heating equipment in federal buildings. Works under supervision, following detailed guidelines, manuals, and directives.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, adjustments, minor repairs, and preventive maintenance to ensure efficient system performance.
- Respond to occupant complaints related to HVAC issues, conduct equipment testing, and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal indoor conditions.
- Perform repairs on ventilating, refrigeration, and heating systems under technical guidance.
- Check auxiliary systems such as steam pressure stations and pumps.
Requirements
- Universal CFC Certification.
- 3rd Class Steam Engineer license.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
- Pass drug screening and background checks.
Skills
- HVAC systems operation and maintenance.
- Preventive maintenance techniques.
- Operation of electrical and mechanical equipment.
