Licensed Steam Operating Engineer

About the role

Operating Engineer responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing HVAC, refrigeration, and heating equipment in federal buildings. Works under supervision, following detailed guidelines, manuals, and directives.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, adjustments, minor repairs, and preventive maintenance to ensure efficient system performance.
• Respond to occupant complaints related to HVAC issues, conduct equipment testing, and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal indoor conditions.
• Perform repairs on ventilating, refrigeration, and heating systems under technical guidance.
• Check auxiliary systems such as steam pressure stations and pumps.

Requirements

• Universal CFC Certification.
• 3rd Class Steam Engineer license.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
• Pass drug screening and background checks.

Skills

• HVAC systems operation and maintenance.
• Preventive maintenance techniques.
• Operation of electrical and mechanical equipment.

Working Conditions
