Licensed Speech Language Pathologist, Per Diem

Job Summary

The Apple Rehab Coccomo is a 100-bed skilled nursing community located in Meriden, CT. Known for its excellent care and familial environment, the community is easily accessible via routes 91, 691, and 15. We are currently seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join our dedicated team.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Evaluates, develops, organizes, and implements resident care programs through the utilization of selected speech therapy procedures in individual and group sessions.
• Schedules treatment for residents individually or in groups, ensuring productivity expectations are met.
• Instructs residents, families, and caregivers in speech therapy to continue upon discharge.
• Maintains compliance with PPS guidelines and ensures all speech therapy documentation and treatment conform to established policies and procedures.
• Oversight and direction of technicians and supervision of affiliated students.
• Complies with ethical, regulatory, procedural, and professional standards and practices.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited SLP program, holding CCC or in CFY status, and eligible for licensure.
• Prior long-term care experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Good physical and mental health.
• Some lifting, fine hand-eye coordination, and good hearing acuity required.
• Visual and hearing acuity necessary to detect changes in residents' conditions and respond to pages.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, co-workers, medical personnel, regulatory agencies, and consultants.
