Job Summary

The Apple Rehab Guilford is an 86-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation center located on waterfront property in scenic Guilford. We are seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join our team.

Our Speech Language Pathologist will provide quality resident care to enable residents to achieve and maintain the maximum level of functional ability while fostering positive interactions.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluates, develops, organizes, and implements resident care programs through the utilization of selected speech therapy procedures in individual and group sessions.
  • Schedules treatment individually or in groups, managing a caseload while meeting productivity expectations.
  • Instructs residents, families, and caregivers in speech therapy to continue upon discharge.
  • Affirms adherence to PPS guidelines and ensures all speech therapy documentation and treatment conform to documentation and billing policies and procedures.
  • Supervises and educates affiliated students, ensuring the physical surroundings and equipment are sanitary, orderly, and free from safety hazards.
  • Complies with ethical, regulatory, procedural, and professional standards and practice guidelines.

  • Maintains resident confidentiality and privacy.
  • Fosters feelings of self-worth and respect by treating residents with kindness and understanding.
  • Reports all grievances and resident complaints to the administrator and/or Director of Nursing immediately.

Physical Requirements

  • Good physical and mental health.
  • Some lifting, fine hand-eye coordination, and good hearing acuity required.
  • Visual and hearing acuity to detect changes in residents' conditions and respond to pages.
  • Ability to communicate with residents, families, staff, co-workers, medical personnel, regulatory agencies, and consultants.
