Licensed Specialist School Psychologist Interns (LSSP Interns) Multiple Positions: 2026-2027 School Year

Job Summary

Assist in disability determination through the use of various assessment instruments and multiple sources of data including classroom observations; interviews of teachers, parents, and students; attendance reports; discipline records; and state/local assessment data. Analyze and interpret evaluation results, complete Full and Individual Evaluations within mandated timelines, and attend ARD meetings to present findings, determine eligibility, recommend instructional interventions, and develop IEPs.

Responsibilities

• Attend ARD meetings to present evaluation findings and recommend appropriate instructional interventions and placement
• Participate in MD ARD meetings to discuss the relationship between disability and disciplinary infraction
• Provide counseling services, including related service evaluations, to students with disabilities in their IEPs using evidence-based interventions
• Document implementation of services in the special education tracking system and monitor student progress on counseling goals
• Collaborate with campus staff to ensure students receive services outlined in the IEP
• Work closely with the clinical supervising psychologist for guidance, feedback, and support
• Engage in professional development activities and attend supervision meetings to enhance professional growth

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
• Required: Current enrollment in a School Psychology Program
• Experience: Entry Level
• Knowledge: Procedures for administration and interpretation of a wide variety of cognitive, achievement, emotional, and behavioral instruments; prevention and intervention strategies, including behavior management interventions; special education principles, theories, and laws (federal and state)
• Skills: Organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to maintain and establish effective working relationships with parents and district employees; ability to keep and compile records and develop detailed reports; ability to resolve logistical and operational problems; ability to make data-driven decisions; demonstrated ability to communicate in Spanish
