Licensed Security Officer - FT Nights

Full-time night shift position.

Responsibilities

• Perform all security and safety rounds as assigned under the immediate and direct supervision of the Lead Security Officer.
• Ensure offices and suites are secured.
• Respond to calls for service in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Report all suspicious activity to the Lead Security Officer or the designee on duty.
• Identify hazards and threats to the safety and security of the campus and its occupants; initiate corrective measures or alert a supervisor regarding deficiencies.
• Complete written reports of all reported incidents as assigned.
• Prepare property reports for patient valuables and secure them in the department safe.
• Use the department’s digital camera to photograph areas where security incidents have been reported.
• Pick up additional hours at our acute care facilities as needed, outside of the primary work location.

Requirements

• NYS Security License.
• Active police officer certification; active police officers must obtain a NYS Security Guard license within 6 months of hire.
• Current Training Certificate.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License.
• Basic computer skills and strong oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills to document investigative activities.
• Minimum of one year of security or law enforcement experience.

Pay

$20.20 - $28.00 per hour, based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may vary based on location.
