Licensed School Nurse (RN)

About the role

Provide comprehensive nursing services within the school setting, including oversight and evaluation of school health policies, development and implementation of health plans, and management of student health conditions. Maintain accurate health records and coordinate communication with families, healthcare providers, and staff to promote health education, wellness, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Respond to student illnesses and emergencies and support emergency preparedness.
• Participate in student support meetings and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Serve as a resource for staff on health-related concerns.
• Monitor immunizations and conduct health screenings.
• Oversee communicable disease management and prevention procedures.
• Implement and evaluate school health policies.
• Develop and manage individualized health plans for students.
• Coordinate health services and promote health education.

Requirements

• Current Licensed School Nurse (LSN), Registered Nurse (RN), and Public Health Nurse (PHN) licenses through the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
• CPR/AED certification.
• Knowledge of Minnesota school health requirements and nursing standards.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining confidentiality.
