You will lead skilled staff and help shape services that promote healthier outcomes at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Camp Hill.

About the role

This role manages psychological services and supports major mental health programs throughout SCI Camp Hill.

Responsibilities

  • Staff Supervision: Oversee psychological staff by directing evaluations, counseling efforts, and crisis interventions
  • Program Development: Shape policies and build counseling programs that address daily living and adjustment needs
  • Committee Leadership: Lead important review teams focused on reception, suicide prevention, and mental health services
  • Clinical Standards: Set competency levels, review test interpretations, and prepare detailed diagnostic reports
  • Consultation Services: Guide staff on treatment planning, support special units, and participate in training efforts
  • Accreditation Support: Ensure psychological services meet required standards and provide expert testimony when needed

Schedule

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
  • Telework is not available for this position

Requirements

  • One year as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities, or behavioral dysfunction
  • Valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or a valid license from another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board (applicants with out-of-state licensure must obtain Pennsylvania licensure within one year of employment)
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA
  • Ability to perform essential job functions
  • Pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements

PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
