The Pediatric Place is hiring a Licensed Professional Counselor to join our collaborative pediatric therapy team serving children and families throughout West Central Missouri. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced clinicians in a supportive pediatric setting focused on helping children build confidence, emotional regulation, and lifelong success.

About the role

As a Licensed Professional Counselor at The Pediatric Place, you will provide individualized counseling services and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support the emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs of pediatric patients. You will implement evidence-based treatment strategies while building strong relationships with children, families, and fellow healthcare professionals to promote long-term success and well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Provide counseling services for children ages 3–18 years
  • Implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each child’s needs
  • Utilize therapeutic approaches including play therapy, EMDR, person-centered therapy, mindfulness, and solution-focused interventions
  • Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, dietitians, and behavior analysts
  • Support children and families through compassionate and effective counseling strategies
  • Maintain accurate documentation and treatment records
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team collaboration and care planning
  • Educate and communicate effectively with families and caregivers
  • Create a supportive, safe, and engaging therapeutic environment

Requirements

  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) licensure required
  • Passion for working with children and families
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary pediatric team
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care
  • Experience with pediatric populations preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree

Pay

Competitive salary ranging from $55,000 – $60,000 annually.

Schedule

Full-time schedule with Monday through Friday hours. Flexible scheduling opportunities available.
