Licensed Professional Counselor
About the role
Seeking a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to provide in-person psychotherapy services to the geriatric population in skilled nursing, assisted living, and sub-acute facilities across multiple states. This clinical role focuses on delivering patient-centered psychological care, assessing, diagnosing, and treating emotional and behavioral health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and cognitive decline. The counselor collaborates with facility staff and family members, develops tailored treatment plans, and maintains accurate documentation using a user-friendly electronic health record system. All administrative tasks, including billing and credentialing, are handled by the organization, allowing clinicians to concentrate solely on patient care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and group psychotherapy sessions.
- Assess, diagnose, and treat mental health conditions.
- Develop and adapt evidence-based treatment plans.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and families.
- Maintain timely and compliant clinical documentation.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment as needed.
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted LPC license in the relevant state.
- Effective communication skills in English.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and technology.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to provide in-person services within a facility environment.
- Physical ability to move within the facility.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in geriatric, subacute, or long-term care settings.
- Background treating anxiety, depression, or adjustment disorders.
- Additional experience in clinical psychology, addictions, or related fields is a plus.
