    Requirements

Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship. Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

Education: Hold a master's or doctoral degree in: Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling, or a related field - from a program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). Examples of related mental health counseling fields include - but are not limited to Addiction Counseling, Community Counseling, Gerontology Counseling, Marital - Couple - and Family Counseling. CACREP defines the date when graduates are considered to have graduated from a CACREP accredited program. Additional information may be obtained from http://www.cacrep.org/directory. NOTE: Traditional Rehabilitation counseling programs that are accredited by CACREP do not meet the LPMHC qualification standards as Traditional Rehabilitation counseling differs from Clinical Rehabilitation counseling.

Licensure: Persons hired or reassigned to LPMHC positions in the GS-0183 series in VHA must hold a full - current - and unrestricted license to independently practice as a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor - which includes diagnosis and treatment. NOTE: It is VHA policy that a LPMHC who does not yet have a license that allows independent practice must be supervised by a licensed independent practitioner of the same discipline who is a VA staff member and who has access to the electronic health record. Exception VHA may waive the licensure requirement for persons who are otherwise qualified - pending completion of state prerequisites for licensure. This exception only applies up to the full performance level. For grade levels at or above the full performance level - the candidate must be licensed.

We also have qualifications for GS-9 and GS-11. Could be part of Requirements or Qualifications. Since we already have Requirements section, we could include details about grade levels. Maybe better to have a Qualifications section covering education, licensure, grade-specific requirements, KSAs. But we already used Requirements for basic. Could rename to Qualifications and include all. However instructions: Use headings like About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. So we need to decide which sections to include. We have content for About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements (basic), Qualifications (maybe grade-specific), Skills (KSAs), Benefits (EDRP, relocation incentives), Schedule. We must not repeat info. Let's allocate: - About the role: EDRP summary (maybe also mention it's not virtual? but that's schedule) - Responsibilities: duties list. - Requirements: basic citizenship, education, licensure. - Qualifications: grade-specific requirements (GS-9 entry level, GS-11 full performance) plus maybe preferred experience. - Skills: KSAs (knowledge, skills, abilities) for GS-9 and GS-11. - Benefits: EDRP details (already in About role? maybe move EDRP to Benefits). But we already used About role for EDRP; we could keep About role as general overview, and Benefits for EDRP and relocation incentives. - Schedule: Work schedule Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm, note not virtual, telework ad-hoc. We must avoid duplication. Let's craft. About the role: brief overview: This position is eligible for EDRP etc. Could also mention that it's a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor position (GS-9 to GS-11). But that's more qualifications. Let's keep About role short: EDRP eligibility. Responsibilities: duties list. Requirements: basic citizenship, education, licensure. Qualifications: grade-specific details (GS-9 entry level, GS-11 full performance) plus preferred experience. Skills: KSAs (list for GS-9 and GS-11). Could combine. Benefits: EDRP details (award amount, eligibility period, application timeline, contact), relocation/recruitment incentives may be authorized, PCS not authorized. Schedule: Work schedule Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm, note not virtual, telework ad-hoc. We must ensure not to include filler like "commensurate with experience". Not present. Now produce HTML. We need to wrap lists in
    • . For prose use

. Let's craft. Be careful to preserve all substantive information: include details like "up to $200,000", "one to five years", "submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment", contact email, etc. Include details about GS-9: entry grade level for LPMHCs with less than one year of experience (post-master's degree) or for LPMHCs at the master's or doctoral level) who are graduates not yet licensed at the independent practice level. Unlicensed LPMHCs at GS-9 have completed required education and are working toward completion of prerequisites for licensure; must demonstrate KSAs in subparagraph (c). Also include GS-11: at least one year of post-master's or post-doctoral degree mental health counseling experience, must be licensed to practice at independent practice level, demonstrate KSAs in subparagraph (c). Also mention LPMHCs may provide clinical supervision over unlicensed LPMHC or trainee, note state license specifics, grandfathering provision, grade determinations, preferred experience (extensive experience in individual and group therapies working with PTSD and SUD, training in evidence-based practices such as CBT, ACT, DBT, MI, other EBPs, skilled in interdisciplinary teams, proficient in suicide prevention, capable in mental health crisis care, capable in providing episodic treatment). Also mention that full performance level is GS-11, actual grade range GS-9 to GS-11. Include KSAs for GS-9 (1-9) and GS-11 (1-8 plus additional). Let's list them. We need to ensure we don't miss any duty items: there are many. We'll include all as list items. Let's extract duties from the text: - Identifies problems/needs from the assessment to be treated and develops the individual treatment plan - Provides individual professional input and addressing the social aspect of the patient's situation with the treatment team - Assists Veterans and the treatment team in navigating problems in the residential milieu - Ensures all case management as assigned for the duration of the Veteran's admission through post-discharge follow-up - Conducts therapeutic
