Licensed Practical Nurse - Southeastern Veterans' Center (Part-Time) (2nd and 3rd Shift)
Description of Work
This position helps ensure that residents receive consistent, safe, and respectful nursing care in a supportive environment. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will perform the following duties:
- Health Assessment Support: Assist the RN by checking resident health status and ensuring accurate and confidential documentation.
- Meditation Management: Administer medications and treatments, verify pharmacy orders, and maintain accurate records.
- Resident Observation: Observe residents for changes or concerns and report findings while documenting daily care activities.
- Care Coordination: Work with the RN to help plan and adjust resident care and participate in nursing committees when needed.
- Safety and Hygiene: Ensure residents are clean, safe, and well groomed while supporting infection control practices.
- Specialized Care: Provide focused care for residents in specialty units such as Alzheimer care.
Work Hours and Additional Information
Part-time employment; 8hrs per day, 40hrs biweekly. Positions are available on the following shifts: 2nd shift – 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, 3rd shift – 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM. Rotating schedules and also works every other weekend. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Pay
Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting hourly salary of $33.03 (before taxes).

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility
Necessary Special Requirements: This position requires active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practice Nurse in Pennsylvania. All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
- Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. If you are within 60 days of completing a licensed practical nursing program approved by the State Board of Nursing, you are eligible to apply for this job posting.
- To be appointed to a position, you must show proof of possession of a current, valid PA temporary practice permit or PA Licensed Practical Nurse license.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements
A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
