Responsibilities
- Assume authority, responsibility, and accountability for carrying out job duties.
- Receive reports at the beginning of each shift and assess the physical and emotional status of each resident.
- Evaluate residents' needs for continued or immediate care.
- Delegate direct care responsibilities to nursing personnel based on resident needs, physical layout, and staff ability.
- Oversee all phases of direct resident care within the guidelines of the Nurse Practice Act.
- Ensure nursing staff perform all restorative measures recommended in the plan of care.
- Report all incidents of change in resident’s condition to the Director of Nursing.
- Assist physicians on rounds and keep them informed of resident status, changes in condition, and medical emergencies.
- Plan working schedules to allow for education, supervision, and evaluations of all nursing personnel during the shift.
- Maintain completeness of resident charts and individual care plans with timely, informative, and descriptive entries.
- Write daily nursing notes on all skilled residents and monthly summary notes on each resident as scheduled.
- Ensure timely execution of all physician orders, including laboratory testing, specialized therapy, and medication administration.
Requirements
- Valid RN or LPN license in good standing.
- Successful completion of a training and competency evaluation program.
- Completion of company orientation.
- Health screening and TB test (if required) within two weeks of employment.
- Mandatory drug test within 90 days of hire.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Satisfactory evidence of identity and employment eligibility within three days of hire.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
