Licensed Practical Nurse- Psychiatry

About the role

The Montford Psychiatric Unit is a 550-bed inpatient psychiatric facility dedicated to providing specialized mental healthcare for a diverse patient population. This unique setting provides nurses with the opportunity to gain experience caring for patients with complex behavioral health needs while working closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, mental health clinicians, and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to patients with a wide range of psychiatric needs under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals.
• Assist in medication administration and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
• Document patient care activities accurately and timely in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment plans.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort by maintaining a clean and organized patient environment.
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Requirements

• Current LVN License in the State of Texas, or ability to transfer license to Texas, or scheduled to complete a program of vocational nursing within 120 days of applying for a position.
• Graduated from an accredited nursing program.
• New graduates must pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) on the first attempt.

• Basic computer skills for electronic health records (EHR).

Pay

Competitive pay – Earn a strong salary plus shift differential:

• Night Differential: +$3/hr on weekday nights
• Weekend Differential: +$3/hr on weekend days
• Weekend Night Differential: +$6/hr on weekend nights

Schedule

Enjoy a predictable rotating schedule that provides four consecutive workdays followed by four consecutive days off, offering excellent work-life balance. Days | Rotating, 5:30 AM–6:00 PM
