Licensed Practical Nurse PRN - Comprehensive Multiple Sclerosis Clinic

About the Role
Supports the licensed healthcare team members in the provision of patient care, including direct patient care, providing healthcare information to patients/families, and following established plans of care. Works in close collaboration with the RN or a licensed healthcare team member to evaluate the patient's plan of care and progress toward goal attainment. All patient care activities are undertaken with the delegation/supervision of a licensed professional in accordance with VUMC standards and licensure regulations.
This is a PRN position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. No holidays, weekends, or on-call shifts.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare providers in delivering healthcare services.
- Partners with the healthcare team by following established plans of care to ensure patient progress and effective outcomes.
- Supports plans to promote health and a safe, healthy environment.
- Performs nursing interventions such as wound care, point-of-care testing, and vital signs under the direction of licensed professionals.
- Participates in the development of the plan of care in consultation with the licensed healthcare team.
- Anticipates resource needs, identifies tasks, sets priorities, and organizes work within areas of responsibility.
- Handles multiple assignments simultaneously, adapting to changes in patient care needs with minimal disruption.
- Provides patient education under the direction of licensed professionals.
- Contributes to nursing assessments by collecting, reporting, and recording objective and subjective data accurately and timely.
- Performs routine tasks that may impact team performance with occasional guidance.
- Utilizes discretion and research to solve routine problems.
- Applies knowledge of standards, processes, and procedures relevant to the role.
- Provides guidance to entry-level co-workers.

Requirements
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification in Tennessee.
- Graduate of an approved discipline-specific program.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.
