Job Summary
The LPN Clinic is responsible for providing patient care following established standards and practices. Assists physician, nurse, and staff with the daily coordination of patient care and patient access. Coordinates patient flow, schedules appointments, procedures, tests and referrals. May serve as a preceptor for clinical staff.
Responsibilities
- Triage calls, determining appropriate medical decision making and routing to appropriate departments.
- Demonstrate competency and accuracy in all work tasks.
- Courteously answer telephone, properly route calls, chart appropriately in EMR, and take complete and accurate messages.
- Absess the medical and nursing care rendered by self and others, identifying any need for improvement and communicate this information to superiors.
- Use appropriate Triage protocols via EMR to guide appropriate care of patients in conformance with all policies and procedures.
- Fills in and assists other office staff members during their absence or work overloads.
- Assures accurate and timely completion of all nursing duties scheduled during the shift without interference to the quality of work.
- Communicate with patients, family members, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner, explaining therapy, tests, and treatments.
- Assists in maintaining a comfortable, orderly, safe, clean, and private patient care environment.
- Participate in orientation of new personnel to the office, as required.
- Establish and maintain good rapport and spirit/level of cooperation with other office staff members.
- Greet patients, family members, and visitors in a friendly, courteous manner and provide empathy and positive feedback.
Qualifications
- Graduate of Accredited LPN program.
- Current Louisiana License as LPN and BLS Certification.
