Licensed Practical Nurse - P/T Days
About the role
We are hiring for a Licensed Practical Nurse - Part-time position at RHA Health Services in Charlotte, NC. This is a regular, full-time role.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide holistic nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Aid the Registered Nurse in delivering quality nursing services
- Train unlicensed personnel on health-related topics
- Administer medications and treatments, or assist with medication administration
- Schedule and ensure preventative and routine medical appointments
- Collect and record health-related data
- Monitor and report any abnormal health-related findings to the physician
- Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, medical suppliers, and the Interdisciplinary Team
- Advocate for the people supported and assist with developing community supports
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited licensed nurse program
- Current nursing license with no restrictions to practice nursing
- Current CPR Certification or eligibility to obtain certification
- Effective communication skills with Interdisciplinary Team Members, as well as the people supported and their families
- Ability to work independently, be organized, and prioritize work tasks
- Physical requirements: ability to regularly lift 20 pounds, minimum of 40 pounds, pull a minimum of 25 pounds, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop, regularly stand and walk, demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level
- Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision
- Ability to communicate
