About the role

We are hiring for a Licensed Practical Nurse - Part-time position at RHA Health Services in Charlotte, NC. This is a regular, full-time role.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide holistic nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Aid the Registered Nurse in delivering quality nursing services
  • Train unlicensed personnel on health-related topics
  • Administer medications and treatments, or assist with medication administration
  • Schedule and ensure preventative and routine medical appointments
  • Collect and record health-related data
  • Monitor and report any abnormal health-related findings to the physician
  • Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, medical suppliers, and the Interdisciplinary Team
  • Advocate for the people supported and assist with developing community supports

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited licensed nurse program
  • Current nursing license with no restrictions to practice nursing
  • Current CPR Certification or eligibility to obtain certification
  • Effective communication skills with Interdisciplinary Team Members, as well as the people supported and their families
  • Ability to work independently, be organized, and prioritize work tasks
  • Physical requirements: ability to regularly lift 20 pounds, minimum of 40 pounds, pull a minimum of 25 pounds, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop, regularly stand and walk, demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level
  • Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision
  • Ability to communicate

  • Drug testing
  • Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements
  • Proof of employment history or references (if required)
  • Driver’s license, driver’s insurance, and vehicle (if required for providing transportation for individuals)
