Licensed Practical Nurse - On- Call (Weekend Shifts)
What You Will Do
- Coordinate psychiatric and medical care for Level 2 Residential Treatment Facility (RTF) residents by providing nursing services, education, oversight of medications, and on-call services after-hours for nursing needs.
- Ensure client safety, including completion of Wellness and Accountability checks, Q15s, and ratio, working an alternate schedule when needed.
- Ensure the well-being of the residents on a 24-hour basis, with availability after-hours, to address medical and psychiatric emergencies.
- Schedule and transport clients to medical appointments, and communicate with community providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Accurately document/transcribe all physicians’ orders, and ensure all treatments are given as prescribed, including supervision of self-administration of medications and providing education to staff as needed.
- Take, record, and bill vitals as scheduled.
- Ensure medication cart and nursing supplies are inventoried, organized, and in compliance, and participate in scheduled audits.
- Communicate with the Program Manager and/or Residential Director any concerns regarding the health of the residents, and communicate with community providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Ensure all new clients receive a nursing assessment within 24 hours of admission.
- Ensure concise and timely completion of all paperwork or documentation.
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment by being a positive role model for the development of socialization and other skills for all residents.
- Respond to emergencies and provide crisis intervention using training, including but not limited to Trauma Informed Care and de-escalation.
What We Offer
- $27.00 per hour; plus $1.00 differential for evening and overnight shifts (3:00 pm – 11:00 pm and 11:00 pm - 7:00 pm).

What You Will Need
- Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Post-high school education in psychology or a related field preferred.
- Two (2) or more years of post-licensure experience is highly favorable.
- Florida State Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Working knowledge and adherence to all Agency for Healthcare Administration (ACHA) regulations regarding medication management and general nursing practices.
- General understanding of mental health practices and working knowledge of the DSM-5.
- Basic knowledge of and ability to work within standard nursing procedures.
- Thorough knowledge of Residential Treatment Facilities (RTF) regulations as promulgated by the State of Florida.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and electronic medical records.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstration of co-occurring competency.
- Demonstrate knowledge of concepts presented in training programs, conferences, and/or professional literature.
- Utilize personal protective equipment as organizational and/or state guidelines require.
- Light housekeeping functions as designated by the supervisor.
- Will be responsible for driving agency vehicles when necessary.
