Licensed Practical Nurse- OBGYN Clinic ( Jefferson Street) (60%)

About the role

The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking a 60% Licensed Practical Nurse to work in their Jefferson Street OBGYN Clinic.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
• Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic programs for patients.
• In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel. In more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse.
• Performs patient care related to vital signs, lab draws, setting up and assisting with minor procedures, in-clinic treatments, point of care testing and other duties as assigned.
• Provides psychological support to the patient and family based on assessed needs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Percent of Time: 60% (24 hours per week)

• Schedule: Monday-Friday, rotating days. 8:30am-5:30pm. No weekends and no holidays.
• Salary: Merit Plan Plan

Qualifications

• Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
• Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit. Responsible to take the required continuing education hours to maintain a valid LPN certification.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification
