Licensed Practical Nurse (Nights) (McPike ATC) (NY HELPS)

About the role

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will work nights at the McPike ATC, part of NY HELPS. This position requires a license and current registration to practice as a practical nurse in New York State.

Responsibilities

• Medication administration and specimen collection
• Attentiveness to patients’ medical and other needs
• Provision of nursing treatments
• Gather patient measurements, signs and symptoms
• Conduct building checks for safety hazards and ensuring patient safety
• Crisis intervention
• Complete documentation in patient electronic medical records, as well as staff communication logs and other required forms as needed
• File patient record forms in the appropriate location within the record
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum qualifications: A license and current registration to practice as a practical nurse in New York State
• Additional comments: Salary range from $55,508 to $59,897 annually, with additional benefits including vision and dental insurance, pension, deferred compensation, continuing education, paid leave, and 13 state holidays per year.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible and maintain eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs
• Mandatory overtime (MOT) is a requirement of this position
• Applicants must pass a background investigation, including a Staff Exclusion List (SEL) check, Criminal Background Check (CBC), and State and Federal Criminal History Record Checks
• Applicants must be tobacco-free
