Licensed Practical Nurse (Nights) (McPike ATC) (NY HELPS)
About the role
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, incumbents serve as members of a multidisciplinary team performing a variety of nursing and client care activities designed to ensure that clients receive all necessary care.
Responsibilities
- Medication administration and specimen collection
- Attentiveness to patients' medical and other needs
- Provision of nursing treatments
- Gather patient measurements, signs and symptoms
- Conduct building checks for safety hazards and ensuring patient safety
- Crisis intervention
- Complete documentation in patient electronic medical records, as well as staff communication logs and other required forms as needed
- File patient record forms in the appropriate location within the record
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A license and current registration to practice as a practical nurse in New York State
- For permanent, competitive appointment, must be currently employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse or eligible for transfer
Pay
- $53,226 - $57,813
- Plus $4,000 Geographic Pay
- Plus $575 Inconvenience Pay
The salary range listed reflects the full range for this graded position, factoring in annual performance advances based on satisfactory annual performance reviews. Candidates with no previous State service will begin at the hiring rate (starting rate of the salary range) listed above, plus any applicable Location Pay/Geographic Pay/Shift Pay differentials. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
Schedule
Mandatory overtime (MOT) is a requirement of this position. Chosen candidate(s) will be added to the mandatory overtime roster, which is utilized on a rotating basis. The MOT is applied during times of emergency, after the agency has made a good faith effort to have overtime covered and all other staffing options have been exhausted (volunteers, hourly staff, contracted staff). Our Addiction Treatment Centers (ATCs) operate 24/7/365 programming. Therefore, MOT is an essential function of this position and is critical to maintaining adequate staffing at all times in order to ensure the health and safety of clients within the facility.
