About the role
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to support schools for the Severely Disabled.
Responsibilities
- Cook up and implement a health screening plan.
- Coordinate, design, and execute special healthcare procedures.
- Train on lifting techniques, basic first aid, infection control, medication administration, CPR, and other in-services as needed.
- Administer medications and other healthcare procedures according to physician orders.
- Participate in staffing and IEP conferences to share the student's physical and health needs.
- Take charge in developing and executing a comprehensive school health plan.
- Accurately complete required reports on or before the set deadlines.
- Collaborate with the building administrator to keep the environment orderly, attractive, safe, and clean.
- Maintain CPR training instructor certification and basic CPR certification.
- Maintain confidentiality of parent, student, and staff personally identifiable information.
Requirements
- Must be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Missouri.
- Experience with pediatrics and/or individuals with disabilities is preferred.
Qualifications
- Professional license pursuant to state law required.
Skills
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of pediatric and/or disability-specific healthcare practices.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $38,208. Applicants eligible for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials may exceed this range.
