The Opportunity

The ConvenientMD team is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our urgent care facility. This role involves providing high-quality patient care, assisting with exams, and collaborating with the clinical team.

Your Impact

  • Conduct comprehensive patient triage by taking vital signs, documenting medical history, and performing observational examinations.
  • Absorb and perform diagnostic and testing procedures, including vision, hearing, drug screens, breath alcohol testing, spirometry, and more.
  • Execute point-of-care tests like strep, flu, RSV, SARS-CoV-2, glucose, lipid panel, and urinalysis.
  • Deliver wound care assessments, immunizations, and medication administration according to federal and state regulations.
  • Communicate test results and explain medication or therapy plans to patients.
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records, documenting patient histories and treatment details.
  • Observe and report changes in patients' conditions, taking necessary action as needed.
  • Ensure medical instruments and equipment are clean, sterilized, and maintained per organizational policies.
  • Maintain a stocked and sterile workspace to support smooth clinic operations.
  • Collaborate with other members of the clinical team to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with providers and other healthcare professionals to relay patient information and updates.
  • Welcome and support the training of new team members.

Required Availability

  • Must be able to work 12-hour shifts in consecutive and/or non-consecutive days.
  • For full-time: Must be available for three (3) 12-hour shifts a week with at least four (4) shifts a month on a Saturday or Sunday.
  • For part-time: Must be available for two (2) 12-hour shifts per week with at least two (2) shifts a month on a Saturday or Sunday.
  • For per diem: Must be available for four (4) 12-hour shifts per month, ideally working one (1) shift each week.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays.
  • If needed, must be able to work at a minimum of three (3) other ConvenientMD locations within a one (1) hour travel distance from your primary clinic.
  • Required to travel for training shifts which may occur outside of your primary clinic within a one (1) hour commute.

Who You Are

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Certification and demonstrated prior experience: State licensed practical nurse (LPN) with prior experience placing and monitoring IVs. For Maine and New Hampshire only, must be IV certified.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification. We do not accept CPR, ACLS certifications, or online only classes.

  • Tech-savvy: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, experience with or ability to learn Experity as well as other business systems.

Bonus Qualifications

  • One to two (1-2) years of patient triage experience in an urgent care or emergency department preferred.
