Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Resident (Winter 2027) Med/Surg

This role is designed for new graduate nurses or LPNs with less than one year of experience, aiming to develop foundational nursing skills. Responsibilities Include Attending all core and quality curriculum classes, participating in professional development, and completing clinical competencies within the Nurse Residency Program.Assisting in patient care under the supervision of a licensed RN, including collecting patient data, performing treatments, and providing discharge teaching.Documenting patient care accurately, recognizing emergency situations, and escalating issues as needed.Participating in interdisciplinary care planning, making referrals, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.Ensuring compliance with organizational policies such as infection control, confidentiality, and safety protocols.Recognizing unit problems, escalating concerns, and assisting in staffing adjustments based on patient needs. Qualifications And Skills Completion of an accredited LPN program or recognized equivalency.Current LPN license recognized by the NCSBN Compact or the state of practice.Ability to participate actively in training, demonstrate compassion, and adhere to policies. This non-management position reports to a supervisor or manager and is based at Blount Memorial Hospital in the Medical/Surgical Nursing department.
