Responsibilities
- Comply with nursing policies and procedures to ensure nursing standards are met.
- Promote optimal health for clients.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician’s orders and in accordance with state and federal guidelines, including controlled substances via all routes without restriction.
- Assist clients with all health and medical devices, including but not limited to: glasses, hearing devices, tracheotomies, G/J tubes, colostomies, urostomies, apnea monitors, CPAP machines, ventilators, oxygen, oxygen concentrators, nebulizer machines, suction devices, and suctioning toothbrushes.
- Monitor clients for seizures, medication side effects, signs and symptoms of illness, and provide necessary nursing interventions.
- Inform Assistant Director of Nursing or Director of Nursing and/or physician of health status changes, accidents, and injuries of clients.
- Notify Director of Nursing or Health Care Coordinator of emergency situations.
- Complete all required documentation including assessments, nurses’ notes, tracking forms, charting, incident reports, monthly/quarterly reports, etc.
- Assist with quality assurance reviews and file documents in charts when requested.
- Administer classes as needed.
- Complete medication validation and documentation as required by APD (65G-7) guidelines.
- Assist with Respiratory Therapy and IV Therapy, including pushing IV medications and mixing of IV medications.
- Assist with clinical evaluations and assessment of medication administration and/or understanding of medical procedures of clients.
- Ensure client’s mealtime procedures and therapeutic positioning procedures, including client transfers, are followed.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) or Registered Nurses (RN).
- Active unrestricted license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Florida.
- Experience in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Experience with specific medical equipment or procedures.
- Effectively communicate at all levels, write, and speak English.
- Reliable transportation.
- Able to work in the U.S. and not require Visa Sponsorship now or in the future.
