About the Role

Comply with nursing policies and procedures to ensure nursing standards are met. Promotes optimal health for clients. Administers medications and treatments per physician’s orders and in accordance with state and federal guidelines. Can administer medications via all routes, without restriction, including controlled substances. Must be able to assist clients with all health and medical devices, including but not limited to glasses, hearing devices, tracheotomies, G/J tubes, colostomies, urostomies, apnea monitors, CPAP machines, ventilators, oxygen, oxygen concentrators, nebulizer machines, suction devices, suctioning toothbrushes, etc.

Maintains client health by monitoring clients for seizures, medication side effects, signs and symptoms of illness, and providing necessary nursing interventions. Informs Assistant Director of Nursing or Director of Nursing and/or physician of health status changes/accidents, and injuries of clients. Notifies Director or Nursing or Health Care Coordinator of emergency situations.

Completes all required documentation including but not limited to assessments, nurses’ notes, tracking forms, charting, incident reports, monthly/quarterly reports, etc. When requested, assists with quality assurance reviews and files documents in charts.

Completes medication validation, and documentation as required by APD (65G-7) guidelines. Assists with Respiratory Therapy and IV Therapy as needed to include pushing IV medications and mixing of IV medications. Assists with clinical evaluations and assessment of medication administration and/or understanding of medical procedures of clients.

Ensures client’s mealtime procedures and therapeutic positioning procedures, including client transfers, are followed.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program
  • Active unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida
  • Experience in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Experience with specific medical equipment or procedures
  • Effectively communicate at all levels, write, and speak English
  • Reliable transportation
  • Able to work in the US and not require Visa Sponsorship now or in the future

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Current Schedules Available:

  • Full Time Days: Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday 6:00am - 6:30pm
  • Full Time Days: Thursday, Friday, Saturday 6:00am - 6:30pm
  • Full Time Nights: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 6:00pm - 6:30am
  • PRN Days
  • PRN Nights
