Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the RN on the unit, Nurse Manager, or Charge Nurse, utilize the nursing process while delivering care to patients admitted to the nursing unit
• Provide direct patient care to medically complex and/or critically ill patients requiring extended hospitalization
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of medical professionals (Respiratory Therapists, Physical Therapists, Case Managers, Dietitians, Speech Language Pathologists, and more) to assist in carrying out individualized care plans
• Gather and report data, carry out orders, and perform therapeutic procedures on patients in an age and population-appropriate manner
• May perform other related duties as assigned or requested

Requirements

• Current unrestricted LPN License in the state you are applying
• Current BLS certification
• ACLS Certification required within 90 days of hire (reimbursement provided)

Qualifications

• One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required
• Prior experience in emergency or critical care environments (preferred)
• Higher comfort level working with vents/trachs/PICC lines, etc. (preferred)
• Two years of experience in direct patient care (preferred)
