Licensed Practical Nurse/LPN - Pediatrics Clinic
Fairview has an immediate opening for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Pediatric team at our Riverside Clinic in Minneapolis, MN. This is a 0.01 FTE (Casual/On-Call) position.
Schedule
Clinic hours of operation are Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM and Friday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
About the role
The LPN performs delegated nursing and medical functions of data collection and delivery of care to an assigned group of patients or individualized patient. The LPN works under the direction of a Registered Nurse or physician/authorized practitioner and in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team. The LPN is responsible for adhering to all policies, procedures, and nursing practice guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Collects data for patient assessments.
- Involves the patient, family, and other health team members in gathering relevant data.
- Documents data collected in the medical record.
- Reports unusual data or changes in patient condition to the RN or physician/authorized practitioner in a timely manner.
- Delivers care as delegated by the RN or physician/authorized practitioner to assigned patient population or individual patient.
- Follows the patient’s plan of care.
- Prioritizes work based on patient acuity, available resources, and patient/family preferences, in collaboration with the RN or physician/authorized practitioner.
- Performs high and low risk technical procedures, including medications, defined by the clinical setting.
- Recognizes when different approaches may be needed based on age or cultural differences.
- Implements assigned aspects of the patient teaching plan.
- Documents care in the medical record.
- Effectively communicates compliance and concerns to delegating RN or physician/authorized practitioner.
- Takes action to assure continuity of care for all assigned patients.
- Adheres to all relevant policies, procedures, and nursing practice guidelines.
- Responds appropriately to emergent situations.
- Communicates effectively with other members of the health care team.
- Documents care in the medical record.
- Communicates verbal and written information in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner.
- Uses communication approaches appropriate to patient/family needs.
Requirements
- Vocational School or Associate Degree in Nursing
- MN Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year of previous ambulatory care experience
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Association or Red Cross)

An individual's pay rate within the posted range may be determined by various factors, including skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization prioritizes pay equity and considers internal team equity when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical.
