About the role
Stonington Institute, a division of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), has an immediate opening for a part time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
Responsibilities
- Contributes to the care of clients by collecting, reporting and recording objective and subjective data in an accurate and timely manner.
- Participates in the development of a strategy of care in consultation with other nursing personnel.
- Evaluates client's medical condition.
- Inventories current medications and updates medication reconciliation form in chart.
- Reports to staff on medical conditions of clients and any medication changes.
- Ensures that appropriate medications and supplies are available and orders medications from the pharmacy as needed.
- Educates clients on medications, medication management, health maintenance, substance abuse, and other applicable topics.
- Maintains the medical aspects of treatment of persons afflicted with substance dependence and behavioral health conditions.
Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Graduate of a licensed professional nurse training program.
- Licensed in the State of Connecticut as a licensed professional nurse.
- Minimum of one year experience working in the Mental Health or Substance Abuse field preferred.
