LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (LPN) - Northern Urology

Responsibilities

• Performs common technical tasks or procedures under the direction of a physician or nurse.
• May administer medications to patients following validated competency, under the direction of a licensed independent practitioner or nurse.
• Verifies the dose of high-risk medications such as insulin with another nurse before administration.
• Performs laboratory waived testing such as bedside fingerstick glucose.
• Carries out general administrative duties in a physician practice office setting.

Requirements

• Current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of North Carolina.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support or obtain within three months of hire.
• If driving is required, a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record as required by the hospital’s liability carrier.
• One year experience in a Physician Practice office preferred.
• Working knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid guidelines and regulations related to a Physician’s Office Practice.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of North Carolina.
