Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Medical/Surgical - PRN

About the role

We are seeking a licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized nursing care based on a delegated plan, addressing physical, emotional, cultural, spiritual, psychosocial, and educational needs.
• Monitor and document patient status such as vital signs, drains, dressings, and lab results.
• Report observations and changes in patient condition to the healthcare team.
• Maintain accurate, confidential medical records.
• Gather and record data using specialized equipment and orient patients and families to routines.
• Administer and document medications as per policy.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Completion of an approved LPN program recognized by the State Board of Nursing.
• At least one year of LPN experience or acceptable equivalent, such as residency programs, program completion, or enrollment in transition programs.
• Current LPN license recognized by NCSBN Compact or applicable state license.

Skills

• Basic nursing skills and compliance with healthcare standards.

Position reports to a supervisor or manager. Work shifts are variable. Location is at a medical/surgical unit within a hospital setting.
