Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Med Surg PRN

About the Role

This Acute Care position includes a mix of Med/Surg and Telemetry patients with a typical staffing ratio of 1:6. Meditech experience preferred. Minimum 36 hours/week, including every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN
• Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care; may administer medication
• Documents patient care provided
• Assists RN with development of plan of care
• Assists patients with daily living activities including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation
• Monitors, documents, and communicates patient status and responses to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and family
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed

Requirements

• Current VA or compact state LPN license
• Graduate of a practical school of nursing
• AHA BLS certification required

Qualifications

• Previous experience in acute care hospital setting preferred

Pay

Hourly range: $22.20 - $29.97 per hour

12-hour shifts, PRN, minimum 36 hours/week including every other weekend
