About the role
Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is hiring a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the 4W Medical/Surgical team. This position offers 24 hours per week on a 7 a.m.–7 p.m. day shift.
4 West is a 24-bed inpatient unit providing quality care to adult medical/surgical telemetry patients who are acutely ill or injured, with a specialty in post-operative surgical patient care. The unit is located 10 minutes from the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.
Responsibilities
The LPN provides basic nursing care under the supervision of an RN or Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP), within the scope of practice dictated by the State Boards of Nursing. Responsibilities include:
- Delivering patient care as an essential member of the healthcare team
- Supporting higher-level nurses and physicians in delivering comprehensive medical services
- Performing physically demanding tasks with attention to detail and compassion
Requirements
- LPN Diploma or certification
- Virginia or compact multistate LPN license in good standing
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire
Both experienced LPNs and new graduates are welcome to apply.
