About the Role

We are seeking an outgoing and energetic Licensed Practical Nurse who wants to make a difference in the lives of others. As a nurse with RHA, you will have an opportunity to practice holistic nursing and to positively impact the lives of others by providing healthcare oversight and monitoring for the people we serve. To provide professional care to service users, aimed at preventing disease and maintaining good health care.

Schedule

Every weekend, 8a–8p

Responsibilities

  • Provide health-related training to the staff and people supported
  • Provide routine nursing assessments
  • Assist with ensuring preventative and routine medical appointments are scheduled
  • Be an active participant in each individual's person-centered plan to help them reach their fullest potential
  • Interact with staff at the RHA office as well as in the residential homes
  • Assist RN and professional staff in delivering quality nursing services to persons supported
  • Administer specified medications
  • Remove expired medications from circulation and access
  • Take historical information and record persons' supported vital signs
  • Observe person's supported mannerisms and report adverse reactions to medication or treatment as needed
  • Advocate for individuals with IDD
  • Participate as an intricate part of the interdisciplinary team for the people we support
  • Demonstrate excellent listening and communication skills, pick up on nonverbal communication, and be eager to work on nonstandard nursing assignments

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program
  • Valid state Licensed Practical Nurse certification
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities preferred
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance
  • Ability to lift between 20 and 50 pounds and provide CPR after certification
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
  • Ability to remain calm in crisis situations
