Responsibilities

• Affords residents comprehensive care assessments on admission and periodically thereafter.
• Documents care assessments accurately and promptly.
• Assesses and manages residents' nursing needs, implementing appropriate actions.
• Manages pain effectively, including educating residents and families about pain management.
• Interprets and acts upon results from waived tests.
• Administers medications correctly, adhering to the seven rights and minimizing errors.
• Maintains a safe environment for residents, reducing the risk of medical errors.
• Maintains a high standard of documentation and follows through on physician's orders.
• Provides clear verbal reports to incoming shifts and follows up on reported issues.
• Develops and implements the resident's care plan based on interdisciplinary assessments.
• Treats residents and families with respect and dignity, addressing their psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs.
• Serves as a leader for the Care Partners, delegating tasks effectively to enhance team performance.
• Welcomes new staff during orientation and assists in performance evaluations.
• Remains composed in emergencies and stressful situations, ensuring the team remains confident and in control.
• Fulfills all organizational policies and procedures.
• Shows genuine interest in and respects the lives of adults in later years.
• Works independently and efficiently, managing workload effectively.

Qualifications

• Adheres to the facility's dress code and maintains a neat, clean appearance.
• Completes required annual education and training.
• Maintains regulatory compliance and confidentiality of resident information.
• Reports to work punctually and completes assigned tasks within the designated timeframe.
• Uses the computerized punch time system correctly and attends necessary inservices and staff meetings.
• Complies with all organizational policies related to ethical business practices and communicates the facility's mission, ethics, and goals.
