OTHRPart-time

About the role

You will work in our Inpatient Rehabilitation Program (IRP), a CARF-accredited, stroke-certified rehabilitation unit that functions as a specialized admission service within the hospital. This environment offers registered nurses the opportunity to care for medically complex patients while developing strong rehabilitation-focused nursing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Care for medically complex patients
  • Develop strong rehabilitation-focused nursing skills
  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process
  • Deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
  • Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication
  • Create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification
  • A commitment to teamwork, communication, and continual professional growth

Qualifications

The unit operates similarly to a medical-surgical setting, allowing nurses to practice a wide range of core nursing skills; however, the unit does not utilize telemetry monitoring. Patients participate in a minimum of three hours of therapy daily (physical, occupational, and speech therapy as appropriate), and nursing plays a critical role in reinforcing therapy goals and promoting functional independence.

Skills

This role is ideal for RNs who value patient education, rehabilitation nursing, teamwork, and long-term patient impact, while continuing to build strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
