Brentwood is a 120-bed acute psychiatric facility in Flowood, Mississippi, accredited by the Joint Commission and certified by Medicare, Medicaid, and TRICARE®. We treat depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, schizophrenia, phobia, and other psychiatric conditions.

About the role

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) delivers direct patient care to children, adolescents, and adults hospitalized for psychiatric or emotional disorders. As a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team, the LPN supports the organization’s philosophy of care, ensures patient safety, and supervises Mental Health Technicians (MHTs) as assigned. The role also contributes to nursing and hospital objectives through educational efforts and quality management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality direct patient care to individuals hospitalized for psychiatric or emotional disorders.
  • Actively participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team.
  • Support the organization’s philosophy and objectives of care.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of each patient.
  • Supervise Mental Health Technicians (MHTs) as assigned.
  • Contribute to nursing and hospital initiatives through education and quality management efforts.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Nursing.
  • Current LPN license or permit to practice in Mississippi.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Three to five years of experience in a behavioral health setting.

Orientation Schedule

Must be available to attend full hospital and departmental orientations:

  • Week 1: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Week 2: Monday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
