Job Summary
Aid physicians and providers in performing nurse procedures for patient comfort and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and prepare them for examination or procedure.
- Record health history of patient and note abnormal conditions for physician.
- Instruct patients on sample collection and test administration.
- Obtain vital signs and escort patients to rooms.
- Aid in the preparation of supplies and equipment and assist during treatment, examination, and testing.
- Give injections, administer prescribed medications, and report patient reactions to drugs and treatments.
- Maintain patient charts, record observations, and forward charts as needed.
- Ensure accurate and timely patient file entries and maintain patient files.
- Assist with scheduling tests and treatments, arranging referrals, and obtaining pre-authorizations.
- Collect, document, and deliver lab specimens; notify patients of test results and follow-up appointments.
- Clean and restock exam/treatment rooms between procedures.
- Follow clinic policies for infection control and handle hazardous waste materials.
- Instruct patients and families on medications and treatment, and discharge instructions.
- Assist with physical exams and prepare for physicals; contact pharmacy for prescriptions and notify patients.
- Control inventory and monitor medical equipment; respond to and screen telephone calls.
- Triage patients to ensure productive departmental flow.
Schedule
Full-time team members work a rotating 36-40 hour/week schedule, consisting of 12-hour weekday shifts and every-other weekend. PRN (per diem) team members are scheduled on an as-needed basis.
Requirements
- Accredited school of nursing degree.
- AR State or Compact LPN or RN license.
- BLS certification.

Baptist Health Urgent Care, part of the Urgent Team, operates 23 locations in Arkansas. They provide quality and affordable family healthcare, including injuries, illnesses, occupational health, and wellness care. Services are available 7 days a week: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Sunday, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday, 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. All locations are Accredited Care Centers.
