Job Summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their Family Practice team at Lake Cumberland Medical Associates. This full-time position is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will contribute to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN. You will perform plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care. You may also administer medication and document patient care given. You will assist the RN in developing the plan of care, assisting patients with activities of daily living, monitoring patient status, communicating with healthcare providers and families, and scheduling appointments and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
  • Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
  • Administers medication and documents patient care given.
  • Aids in the development of the plan of care.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Maintains patient records and communicates patient status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
  • Serves as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Schedules, appointments, and procedures as ordered by the provider.
  • Obtains insurance re-authorizations as requested for testing and scheduled procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved practical nursing program.
  • Current LPN/PN license to practice in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and be in good standing with the Board of health Professions.
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
