About the role
In this role, you will:
- Update and maintain the electronic medical record with up to date vital signs, patient demographics, medication reconciliation, allergies and medical diagnoses
- Manage Physician inbox messages and prioritize tasks assigned via the electronic medical record
- Maintain the medical inventory; place orders for new materials and stock rooms to ensure adequate supplies for physician staff
- Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments
- Escort patients to exam rooms
- Provide patient education concerning medications, management of diseases, home treatments, and special diets
- Assist physician with exams and/or procedures
- Prepare and administer injections
- Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens
- Perform point of care lab testing
- Perform EKGs
- Afford medication under a physician’s order and follows the five (5) medication rights and reduce the potential for medical error
Requirements
- Current NYS LPN license required
- At least 1 year of LPN experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required
- Spanish-speaking preferred
Qualifications
- Willing and able to float throughout our Manhattan locations
- Consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals
- Experience with EMR’s
- Reliable transportation to any of NYCBS location for patient care needs
