Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Day shift

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Midwest Center of Youngstown, a rehabilitative behavioral health facility dedicated to providing treatment for individuals struggling with addiction. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in guiding patients through their detox process, administering medications, and collaborating with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications and make independent decisions within the scope of your license involving patient care
• Conduct nursing assessments during intake, shift assessments, and discharge assessments, and maintain accurate records through our Electronic Health System
• Reconcile medication at the end of each shift and ensure that direct care staff performs proper infection control measures
• Collaborate with the medical team, including the attending physician, ARNP, and Clinical Treatment Team, to develop and implement treatment plans
• Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families

Qualifications

• Current LPN license
• 1+ years of experience as an LPN in a detox or similar treatment facility environment
• State LPN license in good standing
• Maintains current CPR certification
• Detox and Psychiatric Nursing experience required
• Ability to recognize signs and symptoms of withdrawal pain and of a critically dangerous medical emergency and respond appropriately
