Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - Providence Clinic

About the Role

This position involves providing clinical support in an allergy and general medical practice, including administering allergy injections, patient triage, and managing electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Administer allergy injections and mix allergy serums.
• Perform patient triage, including taking weight, blood pressure, temperature readings, updating medication lists, and documenting chief complaints.
• Manage electronic patient prescription services, including communication with pharmacies and verification of medical prescriptions.
• Operate and maintain knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• Perform phlebotomy and EKGs.
• Answer telephones, screen calls, retrieve voicemails, and return patient calls.
• Handle precertification requirements for all procedures.
• Communicate lab results to patients.
• Maintain daily logs.
• Address patient questions regarding appointments and testing.
• Provide patient education and information about procedure preparations.
• Schedule procedures, medical tests, and referral appointments, including coordination and rescheduling as needed.
• Schedule patient appointments and verify necessary information such as demographics and insurance details.
• Assist other staff members as directed.
• Perform additional job functions as assigned.
• Attend required meetings.

Requirements

• Knowledge of nursing principles, protocols, and medication names and prescribing.
• Understanding of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality (HIPAA standards).
• Familiarity with medical chart reporting and records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• State Licensed LPN or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Certification.
• Current CPR Certification.

Mental/Physical Requirements

• Daily standing, walking, squatting, bending, and maneuvering.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Capable of managing stress triggered by workload and challenging situations.
