About the Role
WCS Healthcare is partnering with a psychiatric hospital in Queens Village, NY to support its Adult Mental Health population. This is an opportunity to join a multidisciplinary behavioral health team and provide quality patient care in an inpatient psychiatric setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult psychiatric patients under the supervision of Registered Nurses and physicians.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols.
- Monitor and document patient behaviors, symptoms, and responses to treatment.
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Support crisis intervention and de-escalation efforts as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and interdisciplinary team members to support patient recovery.
- Promote a safe, therapeutic, and supportive environment for patients and staff.
Requirements
- Active New York State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with the Adult Mental Health population.
- Current BLS Certification required.
- Strong communication, observation, and patient care skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced behavioral health environment.
Schedule
Five (5) shifts per week, including:
- Days, evenings, or nights
- Every other weekend required
