Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

WCS Healthcare is partnering with a psychiatric hospital in Middletown, NY to find experienced Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for its Adult Mental Health team. This role offers the chance to deliver meaningful patient care in an inpatient behavioral health setting while collaborating with an experienced interdisciplinary team.

About the role

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated LPNs with at least one year of experience working with the adult mental health population.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult psychiatric patients under the supervision of Registered Nurses and physicians.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.
• Monitor patient behaviors, physical status, and response to treatment.
• Document patient care, assessments, and nursing interventions accurately and timely.
• Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Support crisis intervention and de-escalation efforts when necessary.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment that promotes patient dignity, recovery, and well-being.

Requirements

• Active New York State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with the Adult Mental Health population.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Strong communication, observation, and patient care skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced behavioral health environment.

Schedule

• Five shifts per week.
• Shifts available: Days, Evenings, Nights.
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend.
