Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

About the role

VitalCore Health Strategies (VCHS), an industry leader in Correctional Health Care, has openings for Licensed Practical Nurses at Warren County Jail in Lebanon, Ohio for Full-Time positions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality care consistent with the scope of practice as outlined by the local state nurse practice act for Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses.
• Provide monitoring of patients as directed by the HSA, DON, RN, Medical Director, or other practitioner.
• Implement nursing care within the LPN’s scope of practice, including compliance with all applicable laws.
• Assist in developing and implementing teaching plans based on individual patient needs, focusing on health promotion, maintenance, and restoration.
• Care for wounds with appropriate cleaning and dressing/bandaging.
• Administer medications to offenders.
• Provide care for multiple patients as directed by the Medical Director, DON, or Registered Nurse.
• Monitor vital signs and report changes to appropriate medical staff.
• Document actions in the MAR and medical records.
• Perform other nursing duties as assigned by the facility.

Requirements

• Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program.
• Currently licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of employment.
• Possess an active CPR certification.
• Remain knowledgeable about specific state laws and regulations governing practice.
• Satisfactory completion of initial and annual clinical competencies to demonstrate aptitude as assigned by role.
