About the Role

Villa At the Bay is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their team. The LPN assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of residents for a shift of duty, providing licensed care and ensuring high standards of resident well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Provides licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Provides and receives nursing reports upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.
  • Ensures assigned work areas (e.g., nurse station, medication cart, medication room), resident care rooms, and treatment areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.
  • Directs and supervises the day-to-day certified nursing assistant services for assigned unit to ensure care aligns with current federal, state, and local standards.
  • Provides required resident assessments, observations, and interventions; reviews care plans to ensure appropriate care.
  • Takes and records residents' blood pressure and vital signs; administers catheter care, IV therapy (within license limitations), and respiratory care (e.g., oxygen, nebulizer treatments).
  • Receives and transcribes physician’s orders to resident’s charts, Kardex/Care Medication Administration Record (MAR), treatment/care plans, as required.
  • Prepares and administers medications and performs treatments as ordered by the physician.
  • Charts nurse’s notes in an informative and descriptive manner reflecting care provided and resident’s response.
  • Completes required forms upon admission, transfer, and/or discharge.
  • Ensures the resident’s environment is free from accidents and hazards; immediately addresses potential safety risks.
  • Makes written and oral reports/recommendations concerning shift activities as required.
  • Ensures all aspects of resident care plans are implemented and maintained; makes recommendations for care plan changes to the IDT per professional standards.
  • Performs all other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State.
  • 1 year of experience preferred.
  • Long-term care experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to multi-task and remain calm under stress.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understands and follows infection control standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to adapt to a flexible work schedule and occasional overnight travel.
  • Basic computer knowledge with an aptitude to learn company applications.

Physical Requirements

  • Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing, and pulling, with or without mechanical aids.
  • Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards.
  • Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
