Licensed Practical Nurse - LPN
Tufts Medicine Behavioral, in partnership with Acadia Healthcare, is opening a state-of-the-art 144-bed behavioral health hospital in Malden, Massachusetts, slated to open in fall 2025. About the role
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will provide nursing care within the scope of practice defined by state regulations and facility policies. Your role includes facilitating admissions, clinical intake assessments, and utilization reviews to ensure patients receive the appropriate level of care. Patient safety and empathetic customer service are top priorities.
Pay
$29.52–$35.25 per hour, depending on experience. Additional $3.00 shift differential for weekend day shifts.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patient health and administer basic care using the nursing process within the LPN/LVN scope of practice.
- Role model customer service expectations and prioritize patient safety.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to meet patients’ physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental, and cultural needs.
- Address and resolve customer complaints when patient needs are not met.
- Implement individualized nursing interventions to promote patient comfort, wellness, and maintenance of wellness.
- Communicate care plans with patients, listen to their concerns, and report status changes to registered nurses and doctors.
- Engage therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, coworkers, and others involved in treatment.
- Safely administer medications in accordance with policies, procedures, and physician orders.
- Maintain professional nursing standards as defined by facility policies, external governing bodies, and psychiatric nursing standards.
- Ensure thorough, accurate reporting and documentation of patient symptoms, responses, and progress.
- Perform other assigned functions and tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- One or more years of nursing experience within the clinical service area preferred.
- Current LPN/LVN license as required by state.
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification (training available upon hire).
- First aid certification may be required based on state or facility.
