Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
About the role
Oxford Clinic for Women, a Partner Practice of Together Women’s Health (TWH), is seeking a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their clinical team.
Responsibilities
- Provides high quality, individualized, goal-directed care for all patients and their families through the nursing process.
- Collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary team members.
- Supports patients, friends, and families physically and psychologically.
- Escorts patients to and from exam rooms and prepares them for physicians.
- Takes vital signs, records medical history/symptoms, ensures medical chart/lab test results are available and complete.
- Prepares patients for and assists with examinations or treatments.
- Communicates follow-up appointments, ancillary and/or pre-operative testing and scheduling to patients and office coordinators.
- Provides education and information to patients and family members.
- Consults with other specialties and disciplines as appropriate to meet all health care needs of patients.
- Uses organizational skills to effectively complete assignments in a timely manner.
- Cleans and stocks all patient examination rooms; cleans and prepares instruments for procedures; keeps a list of needed medical supplies.
- Completes paperwork such as ordering lab tests, x-rays, school/work notes, FMLA, etc.
- Counsels patients concerning lifestyle modifications, medication regimens, side effects, and interactions using an appropriate psychosocial communication level.
- Understands and enforces standard health care regulatory requirements.
- Performs office procedures including all general administrative duties.
- Documents electronic medical record (EMR) all medical interventions.
- Affirms HIPAA and OSHA compliance.
Requirements
- Current license to practice as an LPN.
- Current CPR certification.
Qualifications
- Associate's or bachelor’s degree, or higher.
