Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

About the Role

Performs appropriate nursing care in a correctional setting based on the standards of care in accordance with NJ State Licensing while maintaining facility requirements for security.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional boundaries with residents at all times.
• Perform intake screenings under the direction of Nurse Practitioner/Physician.
• Pass medication in compliance with all NJ State Regulations.
• Maintain a good working relationship with other medical staff and Site Administrators.
• Responsible for the shift report, including counts.
• Inspect emergency equipment.
• Take NP/Physician orders.
• Follow all requirements for documentation.
• Perform all assigned ACA-related duties.
• Attend ACA and other assigned or mandatory training classes in accordance with Kintock training policies.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned by the Nurse Practitioner/Physician.

Requirements

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• CPR Certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred in either a correctional setting and/or acute care environment.
• Ability to work without direct, immediate supervision in providing appropriate follow-through treatment and care.
• Ability to work in a correctional environment where safety and security are of the utmost importance.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited licensed practical nursing program, currently licensed to practice in NJ.
